Glossostigma elatinoides ist eine kriechende Sumpfpflanze, die ihren Ursprung in Australien hat. Diese Pflanze wurde in den 1980er Jahren durch Takashi Amano populär und hat sich seitdem einen festen Platz in der Aquaristik erobert. Sie wird häufig in Aquascaping-Layouts verwendet. Für das Wachstum sind eine hohe Lichtintensität sowie eine optimale CO2-Zufuhr essentiell. Um die zarten Triebe effektiv in den Bodengrund einzubringen, empfiehlt sich die Verwendung einer Pflanzenpinzette. Die Topfpflanze sollte in einzelne Segmente geteilt und mit einem Abstand von wenigen Zentimetern eingepflanzt werden.
